5. PRAISING GOD FOR DIVINE QUALITIES

(Useful in fasting and Prayer Sessions)


  • 1. Oh God, the Eternal God, we bless your Name. You were not created but the self existent Person.

    You are the God without being created. We praise You because of this greatest attribute far exceeding that of all creation.

  • 2. Oh Infinite God, We offer our praises to You always because You are everlasting God.

  • 3. Oh God, You are without form, so glory be to You forever and ever. We the Sinners are not able to see You because of our sinful condition.

    Though You are invisible You always behold each of us and we praise You for such wonderful glory.

    Even though You are the invisible God, You have been revealing Yourself to some in visions and to some in dreams - and for this we glorify your Name.

    Though You are without form and cannot be seen, You have created us with a visible body of a form that is useful to us perfectly. For this Your greatness we offer our praise.

    Moreover, You have created our spirits with the quality of invisibility, even as You are a Person. So I adore You with my invisible spirit and the visible body.

  • 4. O God of Life, You are the source of our existence. But, when we through our weakness, become lifeless, You in Your benevolence revive and renew us by pouring Your life into us. So to the Bestower of Eternal Life we offer our adoration to You.

  • 5. Oh God You are Powerful. To You belongs the Power and Might. That is why You gave strength to men and all living beings, and they by Your gift are able to move and work for their needs.

    May Your name be extolled for this Your goodness. As I remember the way You have led us to progress and so far protecting us with Your strength given to us, we extol You for Your strength.

    Even when we cannot accomplish any work with our strength, You perform it to completion with Your strength. So we praise You with all our strength.

  • 6. Oh God in whom is hidden all the treasures of Wisdom and knowledge, You have gifted wisdom and understanding to all the angels, men and living creatures in Your creation.

    Through this gift of Yours we are understanding many mysteries. May You be glorified. Further, even before we pray to You for our needs and desires to You, You know them well in advance and so You are ready to grant us all that we need.

    You are wise and willful to remove the difficulties into which we fall.

    You are wise enough to solve our problems. We confess that we with our limited knowledge can never fully comprehend Your infinite wisdom and knowledge. And yet we extol Your glory with all the limited knowledge we have.

  • 7. Our Holy Father, May you always be honoured since You have created me and all the creation in a Holy state. But with the entry of sin, and all the creation have become defiled. Yet You are able to make holy and pure by Your holiness. So we honour Your Name with our cleansed hearts and minds.

  • 8. Our Loving Father, we extol Your kindness. We joyfully recognize Your love toward us through Your gifts, Your long suffering toward our imperfections, Your long suffering toward our imperfections, Your guidance in our daily walk, and Your works wherewith You relieve our sufferings, and beneficial acts done by You and so we praise You. Yet, I confess that our grateful praises are not sufficient to compare with the abundance of Your love toward us. We know the affection with which the living creatures love their own; we know the affection with which the men love their own; and we know the love of our parents in this world who love their children. But Your love for us exceeds far above all these affections. So I offer gladly all my love to You with all my heart.

  • 9. Our Just and Righteous God, Your justice is far exceeding superior to the best justice of mankind. When I am in wrong, You rebuke me according to Your justice and You punish and correct me according to Your. So with great respect for the excellent justice You keep always. I honour You with all my heart and mind.

  • 10. Our Omnipresent Father, we adore You for Your great quality that You are present in Heaven and on earth; You are with me wherever I am at all times and are available to help, assist and protect me.

    You are able to keep me free from fear of loneliness. So I offer my grateful praises with all my mind and heart.

  • 11. O God, Free and Independent Lord, You are able to perform everything all by Yourself and without any one assisting You for which we worship You.

    You never need anyone to advice You. We extol Your greatness in doing everything perfectly according to Your own plan and desires and no one can obstruct Your freedom from accomplishing Your full purposes.

    You have shown Your love by giving this type of freedom for us to do our task by depending on You without any compulsion. For this Your gift we worship You.

  • 12. o God, You Yourself are Light, we know You have created the Sun, the Moon and the stars with the ability to give light.

    You alone have also given the ability to respond to light in the eyes of all the creatures. So we offer our thankful salutations and extol Your greatness.

  • 13. O Lord, I praise You for You have given me a body to honor You. Though this body is now unworthy to honour You, transform it into a holy one and ultimately give me a glorious body to take me into Your presence. We praise You.

  • 14. O Lord, Author of all good gifts, we offer our grateful adoration You because You have bestowed to men and to angels Your divine qualities. Also we observe Your great qualities in the various creatures testifying Your nature, person and greatness. So we humbly offer our adoration and worship, to You, who alone is worthy to receive glory, honour and power now and always. AMEN.
